Training guidelines improved

The Field Team Sport Group within QSport has been successful in negotiating revised non contact training protocols with the Queensland Chief Medical Officer.

Under defined COVID SAFE protocols Sunshine Coast Rugby Clubs will be able to accommodate 3 groups of 20 players on a standard size rugby pitch. This guideline will apply to all pitched within a single Club facility which will greatly improve the opportunities for non contact training groups within each Club.

Each Senior and Junior Club will appoint a COVID SAFETY OFFICER who will be responsible for ensuring that all safety protocols are observed. This includes such things as non sharing of water bottles, sanitization before and after training sessions, non comingling of groups on each field, staged sessions, appropriate signage.

These measures will come into effect on Saturday June 13 and will remain in place until Friday July 10.

Guidelines for Level 3 full contact activities (training and playing) will come into effect on Saturday July 11 and will be confirmed by the Chief Medical Officer prior to that date.
