With the retirement of one of our long-standing members, expressions of interest are now being sought for a Board Director role. The role provides a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of the game of Rugby Union on the Sunshine Coast.
Sunshine Coast Rugby Union Ltd (SCRU) was incorporated in 2009 through the amalgamation of four organizations: Sunshine Coast and District Rugby Union, the Sunshine Coast and District Junior Rugby
Union, Sunshine Coast Rugby Union Referees Association and Sunshine Coast Rugby Union Schools Association.
The overarching objective of SCRU is to encourage, foster, promote and administer the sport of Rugby Union throughout the Sunshine Coast and surrounding areas including north to Hervey Bay/Wide Bay area and south Caboolture, and to do all things necessary or desirable in the interests of the game.
As a Director you are required to:-
Specifically, we seek a Director who has the professional skills and drive to contribute to a future facing organisation seeking to positively inspire the Sunshine Coast Rugby Union community. You’ll be an independent and creative thinker who engages at all levels of the Rugby community with respect and diligence, offering constructive contributions to SCRU Board deliberations and decision making.
SCRU Board is currently undertaking a detailed review and strategic planning process with the development and presentation of a new 5-year strategic plan to stakeholders at the November AGM. Preferably Applicants will have a broad understanding of the functions and obligations of a company director and have demonstrated experience of strategic development, business plan execution and leadership and can contribute to this process. Ideally you will have well developed regional and state community, and established professional networks and a reputation as a trusted leader in your respective field.
