Sunshine Coast Rugby Union
Sunshine Coast Rugby Union (SCRU) is a not for profit body which administers rugby union in the Sunshine Coast area. SCRU is affiliated through our State body, Queensland Rugby Union, to Rugby Australia.
We work in conjunction with Sunshine Coast Secondary Schools Rugby Union (SCSSRU) and the Sunshine Coast District Rugby Referees Association.
Senior rugby on the Sunshine Coast is played in 10 Clubs stretching from Gympie in the North down to Wynnum in the South. These Clubs field a range of teams which include A Grade, Reserve Grade. Colts and Womens. Games in this competition are played on Saturdays, with the A Grade games kicking off at 3.30pm.
Our Junior competition involves 11 Clubs from Gympie down to Caloundra. Age groups range from Under 6 through to Under 16/17. Most games are played on Saturdays from 8am through to 1pm with the U16/17 and Junior 7 a side being played on Friday evenings.
Rugby is played in 13 high schools on the Sunshine Coast on Wednesday evenings.
Our players can qualify for a number of representative sides in Seniors, Juniors and Schools throughout the season.
